4 firms eye promoting Egypt’s chemical exports to Africa, Europe- Export Council

Egyptian Chemical Export Council (CEC) received four offers from marketing firms to promote sector’s exports to Africa and Europe, CEC Chairman Khaled Abu El Makarem stated Tuesday.

The official told Amwal Al Ghad that the council is currently negotiating with the Egyptian-Lebanese company that has been launched during ‘Egypt- Lebanon to Africa’ Initiative launched during the first quarter of 2016.

The Board of Director of CEC has formed a committee to study technical and financial offers submitted by the firms within days to choose the best offer, the official clarified.

After choosing its offer, the winner would focus on how to promote products of chemical sector to enter African markets notably Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, Abu El Makarem noted . The chosen company would be also responsible for providing all information that may help exporters.

He further pointed out that CEC targets enhancing sector’s exports to the European market since it is one of the most important markets for Egyptian chemical exports.

The council also plans entering the Russian market as it is coordinating with Egyptian embassy in Russia to organise a promotional campaign there, the chairman stated.
