Belarusia Belkommunmash mulls production of electric buses in Egypt

State-owned Belarusian manufacturer of electric public transport vehicles Belkommunmash is considering supplies and joint production of electric buses and trams in Egypt to modernise its public transport system, Belarusian embassy in Egypt told BelTA.

Belkommunmash representatives met with officials in the Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Military Industry Organisation of Egypt, the Alexandria Passenger Transportation Authority, and the Cairo Transportation Authority. The talks included a presentation of the Belarusian passenger machinery. The parties discussed possible supplies and joint production of electric buses and trams in Egypt to modernise the North African country’s public transport system.

The parties reached agreements that the Belarusian company would send concrete technical and commercial proposals to organisations taking into account Egypt’s needs.
