Egyptian state-owned El Shams for Housing and Development Company said Sunday that its profits jumped by 27.6 percent, recording 48.35 million Egyptian pounds ($2.7 million) during the first nine months of 2017. Profits earlier stood at 37.9 million pounds during the first nine months of 2016. Moreover, the company has sold 16 land plots over 8,521 square metres out of total 26 land plots in Sixth of October City.El Shams Housing was established 1946 with the purpose of leasing properties in Cairo and Alexandria and later on expanding its activities in real estates and urban development. EMAC Contracting, affiliated to Kuwait’s Al Kharafi and Sons Group, plans to win a mandate to execute a number of infrastructure flagships in Egypt’s new administrate capital, its chief executive Samir Fathy said Thursday. “This comes as part of the company’s scheme to increase its business volume in the national projects,” Fathy stated, adding that EMAC focuses on carrying out a bunch of more road and infrastructure projects in the new city. In addition, the official referred that EMAC hopes to capture compensations of 140 million Egyptian pounds ($7.9 million), through executing Shoubra-Benha highway road and Qena-Sohag western desert road during the last period. “The company also seeks to participate in implementing road flagships, which are being launched by Egyptian General Authority for Roads, Bridges, and Land Transport (GARBLT) in different governorates,” Fathy noted. Located some 40km to the east of Cairo, the under-construction new capital city is part of the government’s plan to expand urban areas to deal with the country's rapid population growth and improve the nation's infrastructure. The city will be a 270-square-mile hub with 21 residential districts to accommodate five million people. It will feature 1,250 mosques and churches, a 5,000-seat conference centre, nearly 2,000 schools and colleges, over 600 medical facilities and a park that is projected to be the world’s largest. Egypt has so far injected investments of 4.395 billion Egyptian pounds ($248.4 million) into a bunch of projects in 10th of Ramadan City during the financial year 2017/2018, said Housing Minister Moustafa Madbouly on Thursday. Established in 1977, 10th of Ramadan is one of the largest industrial cities in Cairo and is located on Cairo-Ismailia desert highway road, 46km (29 miles) from Cairo and 20km (12 miles) from Belbeis City in Sharqia Governorate. Egypt’s Catalyst Real Estate Consultancy Company says it plans to launch its new residential flagship First Home in the new City of Galala, located between Ain Sokhna and Zafarana, at the end of 2018. The project is with target returns of around 6 billion Egyptian pounds ($339.2 million) and initial investments of 5 billion pounds, Catalyst’s chairman Osama Shalaby told Amwal Al Ghad on Wednesday. “The company is set to pump investments worth about 300 million pounds into the project within this year,” Shalaby further stated, adding that First Home will be executed over 360,000 square metres and will include 3,000 housing units. “The company’s total investments own seven commercials, administrative, and medical projects in New Heliopolis and El Shorouk cities,” he said. Egypt-based property developer Porto Group’s profits increased to 245.5 million Egyptian pounds ($13.9 million) in 2017 from 117.5 million pounds in 2016, said financial statements on Wednesday. Egyptian Real Mark says it has signed contracts with a number of real estate marketing offices in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia to start promoting new residential projects for public sector firms in Egypt. These projects are located in New Cairo, El Shorouk, and Sixth of October cities, said Real Mark’s chairman Naglaa El Saeed on Tuesday. “The company seeks to double its sales volume through promoting its ongoing project in the foreign markets,” El Saeed further added. A major construction firm was mandated to execute 450 housing units in Mivida New Cairo project for Emaar Misr, the Egyptian unit of UAE property developer Emaar properties, within two years and a half, a source in the firm said Tuesday. These units, which varies between residential villas and a bunch of townhouses, will be carried out at a total cost estimated at 500 million Egyptian pounds ($28.3 million), the source with knowledge further told Amwal Al Ghad. “The company (construction) is set to start the concrete works within the next period,” he stated, adding that the housing units are to be completely delivered within a timeframe of two years. Egypt's second largest listed real estate developer firm Palm Hills announced Tuesday that its sales increased to 1.52 billion Egyptian pounds ($85.8 million) during the third quarter of financial year 2017/2018. Sales earlier stood at 1.48 billion pounds during the third quarter of financial year 2016/2017. Egypt’s Cabinet has approved Tuesday to re-allocate a number of the state-run land plots over 31,000 faddans in Cairo-Alexandria desert highway road in order to build a new urban community. The 31,000 faddans will be allocated in favour of the county’s New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA). Cairo-Alexandria desert road, which is 220km (136.7 miles) long, begins at Giza in the northwest corner of Cairo's regional ring road and ends in Alexandria.
