Cairo urban consumer price inflation falls 21.9% in December 2017

Egypt’s annual urban consumer price inflation fell by 21.9 percent in December 2017 from 26 percent in November 2017, the official statistics agency CAPMAS said on Wednesday.

Inflation has climbed since Egypt floated the pound currency in November 2016, reaching a record high in July on the back of energy subsidy cuts. It has gradually eased since July. Source: Reuters
