Cold weather to hit Egypt Sunday night, sandstorm in Cairo and Delta on Monday

Egypt’s meteorological experts say extremely cold weather will hit the country Sunday night with frost expected in Central Sinai and north Delta governorates, while Cairo will see a sandstorm on Monday, the MENA news agency reported.

Night temperatures will drop to 9 degrees Celsius in some governorates, according to an Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) report.

The country may witness mild rains, while coastal cities are expected to see wind accompanied by some dust.

Cairo will see a high of 21 degrees and a low of 9, while the coastal city of Alexandria will witness a high of a 21 and a low of 9.

Matrouh governorate, near the Egyptian-Libyan border, will witness a high of 23 and a low of 8 degrees Celsius.

Rafah city in Sinai will see a high of 21 and a low of 5 degrees.

The Sharm El-Sheikh tourist resort will witness a high of 23 and a low of 16.

Monday will be witnessing another decline in temperatures as Cairo and some north Delta governorates will see a sandstorm along with the possibility of mild rainfall.
