EGX Extended Gains Backed By Arab Purchases

On Sunday’s midday session, the EGX extended its morning gains to reach EGP 1.76 billion as the capital market amounted to EGP 353.748 billion at 10:30 GMT (12:30 in Cairo).

The main index, EGX30 went up 0.90% to reach 4965.02 p. EGX20 surged 0.45% to hit 5860.31 p.

Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 edged up 0.56% to reach 434.57 p. Price index EGX100 soared 0.79% to reach 781.63 p.

Traded volume reached million 32.146 securities worth EGP 147.612 million, exchanged through 6.880 thousand transactions.

This was after trading in 130 listed securities; 49 declined and 60 advanced while 21 keeping their previous levels.

Egyptians and Arabs were net buyers seizing 65.27% and 6.88% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 98.113 thousand and of EGP 13.939 million excluding the deals.

On the other hand, the non-Arab Foreigners were net sellers seizing 27.84% with a net equity of EGP 14.037 million, excluding the deals.
