Egypt Shares Gain EGP814 mln at Midday, EGX 30 Nears 6190

Shares in Egypt have posted gains of EGP 814 during the midday session of Thursday backed by the non-Arab foreign net buyers. The benchmark index continued its rally to near 6190 points on Thursday.

The Egyptian Exchange’s indices were wavering in green notes during Thursday noon.

The Benchmark EGX30 increased by 0.24% to 6188.57 p; while EGX20 rose by 0.04% to 7265.86 p.

Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 went up by 0.08% to 516.72 p.  Price index EGX100 advanced by 0.08% to 866.63 p.

The capital market has reached EGP 401.622 billion on Thursday, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad English at 12:19 p.m. Cairo time (10:19 GMT).

Trading Volumes & Values

The trading volume has recorded 27.308 million securities worth EGP 130.580 million, exchanged through 7782 transactions during Thursday midday.

Also during the midday session, 153 listed securities have been traded in; 66 fell, 58 advanced; while 29 keeping their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

The non-Arab foreigners were net buyers seizing 12.06% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 9.377 million, excluding the deals.

Meanwhile, Egyptians and Arabs were net sellers as they acquired 82.09% and 5.85% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 4.957 million and EGP 4.419 million respectively, excluding the deals.
