Egypt to spend $2.3 billion on transport sector upgrade

Egypt’s government has set aside around 40.7 billion Egyptian pounds ($2.3 billion) to be spent this year on developing the country’s transport sector.

The amount covers upgrading the country’s railway, road, and metro networks, at costs of 13.362 billion pounds, 8.718 billion pounds, and 10.933 billion pounds, respectively, for the current financial year 2018-2019.
