Egypt will offer 112,000 feddans offered from the 1.5m feddans reclamation project next month according to CEO of New Egyptian Countryside Development (NECD).

He made those comments during a meeting conducted by Prime Minister Sherif Ismail with the ministers of planning, and water resources and irrigation and representatives of several bodies.

The official spokesperson for the prime minister, Hossam El-Kawish, said that the Ismail confirmed that Egypt is working towards issuing the necessary land to execute the different sectors of this project, including projects in agriculture, industry, and aquaculture manufacturing and logistics.

He added that the prime minister affirmed that Egypt is willing to offer all sorts of support to put the NECD into action.

The CEO of NECD also confirmed that they are finished with the research to count the land as available, identify the soil type, and analyse the crops that can be planted, available water resources, and the number of wells both available and planned.

Kawish added that Ismail explained that the 1.5m-feddans reclamation project is considered to be one of the most important “large scale” developmental projects that is expected to add value to the nation.

This project is aimed at creating comprehensive development in deserts that are located outside the Wadi and Delta and the expanding buildings’ capacities while attracting local and foreign investments, Kawish said.

This project will involve large- and medium-sized companies as well as individuals participating in its construction, Kawish said.
