Egyptian banks attract $12.3 billion in inflows since currency float

Banks in Egypt have attracted $12.3 billion in inflows since the country’s pound was floated on November 3rd, a source in the Egyptian central bank announced Monday.

“In one day (Monday), banks attracted $635 million in inflows.” the source told the country’s official gazette.

There is a notable improvement in US dollar inflows to banks day by day, the source added.
