Egyptian, French naval forces conduct joint training in Red Sea

Egyptian and French naval forces have carried out joint training exercises at a Red Sea naval base, Al-Ahram Arabic news website reported on Friday.

The training lasted for several days with the participation of a number of Egyptian and French naval vessels as part of the joint training plan between the two militaries.

The exercise included training activities such as the use of modern methods to confront threats to maritime security, counter-terrorism activities, implementing day and night navigation and exercise formations, and protecting a ship with valuable cargo.

The two militaries also aimed to be trained on the latest systems and methods of naval combat as well as maximising the joint use of the executing forces for training from both sides.
