Egypt’s EMISAL to join forces for salts complex in Marsa Matrouh

The Egyptian Salts and Minerals Company (EMISAL) is planning to establish an industrial complex to produce salts in the northern area of Lake Qaroun in Mersa Matrouh, with total investments of 6 billion Egyptian pounds.

EMISAL targets to establish this industrial complex, in cooperation with Matrouh Governorate and the National Service Projects Organisation.

Chairman of EMISAL Abdul Latif al Kordy said that the company is conducting trial operations in the area, and expecting to complete the trials within two-three months.

Kordy added that the expected production capacity of the project is 600,000 tonnes of salts per year, in addition to cultivating 15,000 feddans and establishing fish farms.

The company will cooperate with the National Service Projects Organisation and the Matrouh Governorate to complete the project.

Moreover, Mersa Matruh Governor Alaa Abu Zaid signed Monday an investment agreement with Madar Company for Touristic Villages and Investment to set up an integrated investment project worth 10 billion pounds in El-Dabaa city, over  2.14 million square meters. Source: Egypt today
