Egypt’s Shares Gain EGP178 mln at Closing, EGX 30 Falls to 5754

Egypt’s stocks maintained their upward trend posting gains totaled EGP 178 million on Tuesday. The benchmark index closed below 5755 points. 

Notwithstanding the closing gains, the Egyptian Exchange indices were wavering in red notes during the closing session of Tuesday, 

Egypt’s benchmark index EGX30 fell by 0.20% to close at 5754.42 pts; while the EGX20 dropped by 0.09% to end at 6749.46 p.

Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 declined by 0.20% to conclude at 494.09 p. The price index EGX100 dropped by 0.20% to finish at 828.17 p.

The capital market has closed at EGP 381.594 billion on Tuesday.

Traded Volumes & Trades

Through the closing session of Monday, the trading volume has reached 87 million., it hit EGP 374 million, exchanged through 22 thousand transactions.   

Also during the closing session, 174 listed securities have been traded in; 86 declined, 63 advanced; while 25 keeping their previous levels.

Investors’ Activity
Egyptians and Arabs backed EGX’s gains as they remained net buyers seizing 81.86%  of the total market, with net equities of EGP 12 million, excluding the deals.

Meanwhile, the non-Arab foreigners were net sellers seizing 4.09%%, 14.05% respectively ,with EGP 8 million and EGP4 million excluding the deals.
