Ex-Egypt bourse chief Omran named 2017 Person of the Year at ASEA event

Mohamed Omran, former chairman of the Egyptian stock exchange, was named 2017 Person of the Year on Monday by the African Securities Exchanges Association (ASEA).

After completing his tenure as the EGX chairman in August, Egyptian government has chosen Omran to lead the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority (EFSA), the agency responsible for the supervision of non-banking financial markets and instruments.

Oscar N. Onyema, President of the African Securities Exchanges Association (ASEA), has honored Omran during the 21st ASEA Annual Meeting, for his efforts in improving the regulations and performance of EGX during his four-year term.

Omran has previously worked as the Chairman of the Egyptian stock Exchange (EGX) for two successive terms from September 2011 until August 2017.
