France’s Hollande to visit Egypt in April to enhance relations: Senate member

French president François Hollande’s visit to Egypt next April is an important step to deepen mutual relations between two states, a member in French Senate said Wednesday.

He made these remarks during the meeting of Egyptian trade minister Tarek Qabil with Senate’s Committee for the European Affairs and members of European Parliament.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the importance of enhancing joint political and economic relations whether the bilateral ones or the Egyptian-European ones.

The member noted that during May 2016 a number of meetings will be held to strength Egyptian relations with European states in addition to maximising the benefit from the free trade agreement signed between Egypt and European states.
