International plastics fair Plastex 2016 to kick off in Cairo Jan. 14

The 15th International African-Arabian Exhibition for Plastics Industries- Plastex 2016 is to kick off in Egypt on January 14, 2015.

Egypt will host Plastex 2016 for four days from 14-17 January at Cairo International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Nasr City.

Khaled Abou EL Makarem- chairman of Egypt’s Chemical Export Council (CEC)- stated Tuesday that Plastex 2016 is the leading international trade fair dedicated to the plastic machinery, components, raw materials and chemicals at the MENA region.

Plastex 2016 presents products and services, technologies and innovations, trends and tendencies for trade markets and organised by ACG – ITF Trade Fairs S.A.E. company.

Abou El Makarem added that Plastex 2016 is to incorporate the Egyptian Exhibtion for Plastic Exporter and Manufacturers EGYPLAST 6.

The chairman noted that those exhibitions represent good chance to present Egyptian products to largest importers from Gulf region and Africa.

From his side, Ahmed Ghozzi – chairman of ACG- said that Plastex 2016  is considered as major point in Middle East and Africa for materials and machines manufacturers to meet.

He added that plastic industry is expected to witness considerable growth due to large projects and investment plans developed by Egypt in a number of sectors.

Plastex 2016 is the main window through which local manufacturers can know the latest in this sector which is witnessing a giant leap in the technical side, Ghozzi ponted out .

Plastic industry is participating in Egypt’s economy by around US$9.2 billion annually with investments worth more than US$6.4 billion.

The volume of plastic consumption in Egypt is estimated at around US$4 billion per year and expected to be increased by 10 percent within the upcoming three years.
