Saudi Ambassador’s Spouse Celebrates The Oprhans’ Day With Children In An Old Cairo Orphanage

The Spouse of the Saudi Ambassador in Cairo, Ms. Omaya Yousef Kaki, commemorated the Orphans’ Day, by taking place in a funday, hosted by the Childcare Charity.

“I would have never missed the great opportunity to celebrate this special day with the parentless children, in order to bring  joy and happiness to them, and to touch them affectionately”, said Mrs. Kattan, emphasizing the great charitable value associated with such events that would provide a  wave of tenderness and sympathy toward the orphans in their day .

Mrs. Kattan was treated to walking tour through al-Foustat Child Service Compound, attached to the Childcare Charity. During the tour she amicably chatted with the joyful children, and treated them with profound affection. The ambassadorial spouse also took part in the musical and entertainment shows, which were enjoyed passionately by the cheerful children.

Later in the day, the social workers gave a presentation to Mrs. Kattan on the services rendered to the children hosted by their institution, as well as a briefing on the obstacles that stand in the way of providing integrated foster care.  Mrs. Kattan availed herself of the opportunity to express her personal commitment to supporting Egyptian orphanages to carry out their noble mission effectively, and also pledged to always give a helping hand to institutions that undertake charitable activities in Egypt.

The Charity’s administrators paid tribute to Mrs. Kattan, and escorted her through an extension service building, known as Al Foustat Childcare Compound. The new service compound, which is still under construction, will accommodate 150 orphan boys, and will have a multi-classroom training center, a vocational workshop, and a guest house.
