Saudi Investments in Egypt record $10 billion in 2014- Official

The volume of Saudi investments in Egypt reached US$10 billion in 2014, Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Cairo Ahmed Al-Qattan said on Wednesday.

The ambassador made these remarks during the inauguration of the Saudi pavilion in the International Trade Exhibition for Food and Beverages Serving Egypt and the African Markets “FoodAfrica”, which kicked off today, May 6 in Cairo.

Egypt hosts Food for the Africa food event for the first time at Cairo International Conference Centre (CICC) on May 6-9th, with participation of more than 200 companies.

Al-Qattan said there are around 20 Saudi firms participating in FoodAfrica, signalling the strong mutual relations between Cairo and Riyadh in economic field.

The Saudi firms are taking part today with the biggest pavilion in FoodAfrica exhibition, the ambassador noted.

Al-Qattan emphasized on Egypt’s important role as being the main gateway for more than 50 African states.

At Africafood Cairo 2015, the exhibitors will get the chance to meet face to face with thousands of wholesalers, distributors, retailers and other industry professionals, and develop partnerships which will see their products stocked in shops and supermarkets all over Egypt, and the greater African market.
