Six Killed In Military Aircraft Crash In Southern Egypt

Six Egyptian military personnel were killed and another was injured when an army aircraft crashed in Fayoum governorate, south of Cairo, an army spokesman announced on Sunday.

The accident was due to a sudden technical error in the military transport plane during a training exercise, Brigadier General Mohamed Samir said on his official Facebook page.

Defence Minister and army commander-in-chief Sedki Sobhi has ordered the formation of a committee to investigate the incident in the Kom Oshim area of Fayoum.

Last January, an army helicopter crashed near Sheikh Zuweid, North Sinai. The army said it was also due to a technical fault.
