Souq.com targets at getting involved in Libyan Market in 2012

The electronic marketing website Souq.com is targeting at taking part in the Libyan markets in 2012 through distributing the Egyptian local products to the Libyan market. Omar Soudodi, the website General Manager, has said that getting involved in the Libyan markets would be through distributing the products shown on the website to the Libyan customers. He denied launching a further website for the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya.

He pointed out that the website is aiming at making expansions outside the Egyptian borders through the “offshore” marketing. Soudodi explained that the distribution process would be achieved through shipping companies with which the website is making negotiations.

Souq.com has picked up the best “e-commerce website” at the Retail City Awards 2011 ceremony held at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The award has enhanced the website’s role as the one of the biggest e-commerce centers in Egypt and the Middle East. This award also represents the website’s role in developing the e-marketing and retail sectors in the region.
