Trump campaign chief charged for allegedly grabbing reporter

Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump’s campaign manager Corey Lewandowski was arrested Tuesday and charged with simple battery for allegedly roughly grabbing a reporter earlier this month, police in Florida said.

“He was arrested this morning and released with a notice to appear,” Adam Brown, a spokesman for police in the town in Jupiter, told AFP.

Trump’s spokeswoman Hope Hicks quickly issued a statement disputing the fact that Lewandowski, 42, was arrested. She said he was “absolutely innocent” and was “completely confident that he will be exonerated.”
