$1.5 bln renewable energy projects presented at AfDB’s 2023 meeting

The African Development Bank Group’s 2023 meeting witnessed on Tuesday the Africa Investment Forum (AIF) presenting renewable energy projects to investors.

The presented projects are estimated to be worth around $1.5 billion and have attracted private investors, including venture capital and private equity firms.

The projects are sourced from the Africa Investment Forum’s pipeline, and cover the fields of plastic recycling and hydropower.

The event was hosted by Chinelo Anohu, Africa Investment Forum Senior Director. Anohu emphasised the need for “the Africa Investment Forum on the continent.”

Representatives of the Africa Finance Corporation, the Islamic Development Bank, the Development Bank of Southern Africa, and the Trade and Development Bank were among the attendees.
