Egypt’s Ministry of Transport says it has mandated 10 global firms to carry out Ain Sokhna- Alamein high-speed railway line project within the upcoming period, with expected investments worth around $3.5 billion.
Transport Minister Hesham Arafat unveiled Tuesday that Ain Sokhna- Alamein railway line aims to link between the new cities, including Sixth of October (38km or 23.6 miles from the centre of Cairo) and New Administrative Capital (40km or 24.8 miles east of Cairo).
This project will also link between New Alamein (northwest of Cairo) and New Borg El Arab (48km or 29.8 miles south-west of central Alexandria), Arafat said.
The Egyptian minister further added that one of the French offices has been tasked with preparing the project’s consulting works by the Transport Ministry.
