The number of European tourists who visited Egypt during the first seven months of 2016 dropped by 69 percent in comparison to the same period of 2015
Chairperson of Egyptian Tourism Authority (ETA), Sami Mahmoud told Amwal Al Ghad Sunday that the number of European tourists reached 1.3 million in January-July 2016 versus 4.2 million tourists a year earlier.
Germany seized the largest number of European tourists visiting Egypt during the first seven months of 2016, the official added, clarifying that the number of German tourists reached 346,000 versus 543,000 at the same period of 2015, marking a 36 percent drop.
Following Germany, the number of Ukrainian tourists recorded 188,000 by the end of July 2016.
Head Mahmoud added that the number of British tourists who visited Egypt during the first seven months of 2016 fell by 76 percent to 137,000.
