The total number of Greek companies operating in Egypt has reached 150, according to Eman Saeed, an official in charge of Greek file at the Egyptian investment authority, GAFI.
Eman Saeed, from General Authority for Investments and Free Zones (GAFI), further said that the volume of Greek investments in Egypt amounted to around $600 million.
During a meeting by members of the Egyptian side of the Egyptian-Greek Business Council on Monday, Saeed said GAFI has a unit dedicated for solving obstacles faced by foreign investors in Egypt.
She also referred that Greece’s position fell by 10 spots in pumping investments in Egypt.
Saeed further added that the Greek side can help by cooperating with the Egyptian authority to improve Egypt’s business climate.
She explored that the ministry can benefit from Greece and co-operate in the field of agriculture and olive oil. GAFI discussed cooperation with two Greek companies during a recent visit last December in sectors of transportation, developing ports, agriculture, and food processing.
A Greek company has recently inaugurated its branch in Egypt to produce fresh juices in Sadat City for export, the Egyptian official said.
