The annual Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF) 2012 opens its doors at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). Being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, the book fair will feature over 200 events spanning across business, culture, and children and cooking.
It brings together over 900 exhibitors from 54 countries, showcasing over half a million titles in 33 different languages. To be held across Halls 9 to 12, the ADIBF 2012 promises to be one of the biggest and best book exhibitions in the region. In a unique first of its kind, the Abu Dhabi book fair has taken its pride of place as the Green Fair, thanks to its eco-friendly initiatives. All ADIBF marketing collaterals, including brochures and folders, have been printed on special recycled paper. In addition, all giveaway items for the book fair are being produced from recycled paper, fabric and biodegradable material, thus leading the way towards a conscientious and eco-friendly fair.
Mr. Jumaa Abdulla Al-Qubaisi, Director of Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, said, “The Abu Dhabi International Book Fair has played a strategic role in bringing top-notch authors and publishers on a common platform with readers. This year, we aim to take this interaction to new levels through initiatives such as Tawaqee, DAAD coupled with a very enriching cultural programme. We promise to unravel a totally new experience to book lovers in the region, with an exhibition that reflects and enriches the culture and civilization of the UAE.”
