The members’ names, declared yesterday, of the constituent assembly coincided with the list distributed by Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) in agreement with Al Nour Party. The results were completely similar to the list; except Sheikh Mohamed Hassan who didn’t win.
The Islamists of the two parties have controlled over 75% of the assembly; from the parliament, while 40% of the assembly’s members are not from the parliament. This led the Islamist dominate from65% to 70% of the constituent assembly. Five women won the constituent membership and six Copts too.
The Islamist won the majority votes is Dr Saad Al-Katatni. Also the Shura Council chairman Ahmed Fahmy, FJP’s parliamentary spokesman Hussein Ibrahim and Essam Sultan from Alwast party, won the membership. Other Islamists won the assembly’s membership are Mohamed Al Beltagy, Essam Al Erian, Sobhy Saleh, Fareed Ismail, Yousery Hany, Osama Yassin, Ashraf Sabet and Hoda Ghenia. The membership also went to the non-Islamists Amr Al Shobaky, Amr Hamzawy, Anwar Esmat Al Sadat and Wahid Abdel Megeed.
