Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi will be sending a purchase delegation to Egypt from 14-17 January 2016, said Egypt’s Chemical and Fertilisers Export Council (CEC) chairman Khaled Abu El Makarem.
Fifteen major marketing and sales companies from the five African countries will enter into negotiations with Egypt’s Chemical and Fertilisers Export Council (CEC) about buying Egyptian products.
Abu El Makarem made these remarks on the sidelines of the fifth Kenya Chemex exhibition, inaugurated Monday in Nairobi in the presence of 48 Egyptian companies and 36 Kenyan and foreign companies.
The Kenyan United Business Association (UBA) has agreed to send a list of 30 major marketing companies from the five countries, the Egyptian official said. The list will include all the companies’ data and their import volume and items, while the CEC will choose the most significant 15 companies to visit Egypt to contract for export shipments to the markets of the five countries.
“This delegation is the first step of Egypt’s strategy aiming to increase its exports to African countries by approximately 60 percent over the next three years,” Abu El-Makarem said.
