5 mln beneficiaries from World Bank-funded Upper Egypt development scheme
The number of beneficiaries of the Local Development Programme for Upper Egypt, primarily funded by the World Bank, reached 5 million citizens out of 8 million others.
There are 4,000 companies also benefited from the programme that aims to attract investments in Sohag and Qena, said Egyptian Minister of Industry and Trade Nevine Gamea on Friday.
The programme comes within the framework of the World Bank’s Country Partnership Framework (CPF) for 2015–2019, which provides about $8 billion for supporting Egypt’s economy.
