Sixty countries are going to participate in the Sharm El-Sheikh economic conference scheduled to be held in mid-March, including Russia and the United States, Egypt’s ministry of foreign affairs announced on Monday.
The ministry of foreign affairs’ spokesperson Badr Abdel Atti stated that the Chinese President Xi Jinping told the Egyptian minister of foreign affairs, Sameh Shoukry, that China’s minister of commerce would head China’s official delegation in the conference.
Abdel Attai added that the US Secretary of State John Kerry, and Russia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergi Lavrov, would participate in the conference.
Atti also stated that there were currently talks with the 28 EU member countries revolving around their anticipated attendance to the conference.
The economic conference will be held in Sharm El-Sheikh, South Sinai on 14 and 15 March.
