The number of tourists visiting Egypt since the beginning of the fiscal year till the end of March 2012 has reached about 8.9 million according to a report issued by the Central Agency For Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAMPAS).
The indicators of Tourism Ministry showed that the number of tourist nights during that period reached about 108 million nights, as the tourist’s average stay amounts to 13.4 nights.
The European tourism has amounted during that period to 6.6 million tourists, while the Arabs reached 1.4 million tourists.
Last October has topped the numbers of tourists visiting Egypt which had amounted to 1.08 million tourists. Noting that October marks the beginning of the winter season in Egypt in which the European tourism flourishes. The European tourism last October had reached 841 thousand tourists.
Elsewhere, last June has witnessed the lowest number of tourists visiting Egypt as it had reached around 732 thousand tourists and witnessed also the lowest number of the European tourists which had reached 490 thousand.
The Arab tourism had achieved about 1.4 tourists. Last July, the Arab tourism had witnessed the highest number of tourists reaching 187 thousand.
