Abdel Fattah says Egypt pulled off ‘development miracles’ in under a decade

Egypt has achieved “development miracles” in less than a decade that would take other countries a century to accomplish, Builders of Egypt Secretary-General Dina Abdel Fattah said on Sunday at the opening of the forum’s 10th edition.

Abdel Fattah credited Egypt’s rapid progress to “strong political will and a clear vision for both present needs and future challenges,” as she addressed government officials, international partners, and private sector leaders at the forum, which focuses this year on redefining sustainable and resilient coastal cities.

“Our strength lies in collaboration between the state and the private sector. Together, we’ve built projects that have changed the map of Egypt’s urban development,” she said.

She highlighted key achievements including the overhaul of the transport network, the construction of new urban centres such as the New Administrative Capital and New Alamein, and large-scale sustainability and food security projects that have transformed desert land into productive areas.

Abdel Fattah also underlined Egypt’s stability amid regional turbulence, describing the country as a safe haven for investment and a key logistics hub between Africa and the world.

The forum, held under the patronage of Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly, brings together senior ministers, ambassadors, development partners, and business leaders to discuss partnerships for coastal city development that balances economic growth, climate resilience, and sustainability.
