Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank names Zohair Edris as Egypt acting CEO

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) has named Zohair Edris as the acting chief executive officer for ADIB-Egypt, the bank announced in a statement to the Egyptian bourse on Sunday.

This comes after Nevine Lotfy, chief executive of Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank-Egypt, was found murdered on November 22nd by multiple stabs wounds inside her villa in a gated compound in the October 6 city on the outskirts of Cairo.

Egyptian police announced later on November 23rd arresting the murderer, saying the theft was the motive in the murder of Lotfy.

Zohair Edris was the chief operating officer at Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank since October 2007.

Edris began his banking career with National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) in 1980 until he became Relationship Manager for Private Banking Division. He then joined Jordan Kuwait Bank in December 1991 until he was named the Head of Retail Banking during the period from September 2003 until October 2007, according to his LinkedIn page.
