Fayza Abu El Naga – Minister of Planning and International Cooperation- declared the allocation of 11 million EGP as an urgent support for the General Organization for Veterinary Services, for the purpose of purchasing 2 million doses of vaccine for Foot and Mouth Disease.
Abu El Naga added that the ministry of international cooperation is currently studying the ability to provide an extra amount for financing the purchase of vehicles, which will be prepared for the process of quick diagnosing for epidemics, as a complementary activity for urgent efforts executed by the government to face this disease.
Earlier reports –issued by governorates’ veterinary units- have confirmed that the number of infected livestock with FMD has receded in all governorates, as this disease resulted in the death of more than 13,000 animal.
