Across the Spider-Verse earns $120.5 mln debut

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has garnered $120.5 million in its opening weekend at the box office since its release on Friday.

The movie’s three-day debut has made it the second-biggest opening of the year, following The Super Mario Bros. Movie’s $146 million debut in April.

The Into the Spider-Verse sequel has exceeded its 2018 predecessor, which debuted with $35 million. Into the Spider-Verse earned critical acclaim and won the best animated feature Oscar in 2019.

Across the Spider-Verse stars Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Brian Tyree Henry, Issa Rae, Daniel Kaluuya, and Oscar Isaac.
