AfDB aims to expand discussion with IMF over SDRs, debt relief

The African Development Bank’s (AfDB) chairman praised that it is important to expand the discussion around debt beyond the allocation of Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) and debt relief, and instead include the impact of the global financing system on African economies.

Akinwumi Adesina made his announcement on Monday during a media launch at the AfDB’s annual meetings 2023, taking place in Sharm El -Sheikh and scheduled to extend until 26 May.
