The Afghan caretaker government’s Ministry of Public Works signed road construction contracts worth 713 million afghani (over $9.6 million) with two companies, as announced by a ministry spokesman on Sunday.
The road, spanning 49 km in length, will connect Wardak in the east to the adjacent province of Logar, as announced by Mohammad Ashraf Haqshenas, the ministry’s spokesperson, on social media.
The road construction project with 120 culverts is expected to finish in 16 months. The ministry signed a $3.6 million contract for a survey and design of the Herat-Kandahar railway.
