Egypt to become Africa’s pharma industry hub at Africa Health ExCon 2023
Egypt aims to become Africa’s hub in the pharmaceutical industry, said Bahaa El-Din Zidan, Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement’s (UPA) chairman on Wednesday.
Zidan made his remarks during a meeting organised by the UPA to announce preparations for the the second edition of Africa Health ExCon 2023, which will take place on June 7-10.
The North African country has doctors and pharmacists “who possess great expertise, but on isolated islands, while the conference aims to gather these experiences,” Zidan added.
In his remarks, he emphasised on the importance of the Africa Health ExCon in fostering a unified vision for the healthcare sector in Africa, while providing the opportunity to exchange expertise and knowledge in this field.
He further said that major global pharmaceutical companies are keenly looking forward to taking part in the 2023 event to explore the available investment and trade opportunities in Africa’s healthcare sector.
The UPA will organise the conference at Egypt International Exhibition Center (EIEC) under the patronage of H.E. President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, over the theme of Your Gate to Innovation and Trade.
