African Internet governance Forum has held three workshops on the sidelines of its current round. The workshops address the main challenges facing the communications and information technology sector in Africa during the current stage.
The first workshop has discussed innovation and entrepreneurship in the African continent and the extent to which advanced countries trust African products, noting that the biggest challenges that encounter the African young generation are concerned with the efficiency degree of educational curricula and programs and whether they fulfill the needs of the communications and information sector and the global growth rates.
The workshop added that the $100.000 award of the innovation and entrepreneurship competition it has launched was won by an Egyptian, which testifies to the ability of Africans to create products that can be exported and are up to international standards.
In the second workshops, light has been shed on the importance of digital identity and the need to benefit from Burkina Faso’s experience in identity protection, in addition to launching a law to preserve the confidentiality of information and data.
