Aker BP and its partners have made one of Norway’s largest oil discoveries in a decade with the Omega Alfa exploration campaign resulting in a discovery estimated at between 96 million and 134 million barrels of oil equivalent.
The discovery spans three licenses, where Aker BP holds stakes of up to 47.7 per cent, alongside Equinor, Orlen, and Petoro. CEO Karl Johnny Hersvik said the companies aim to unlock further resources in the region.
