Alamein Festival kicked off on Wednesday in New Alamein, a city on the Mediterranean Sea coast.
Amr al-Feki, CEO of POD Egypt which is part of the UMS group, said that the New City of Alamein is a dream come true, since it was left abandoned for decades due to the mines left behind from the World Wars.
However, the Egyptian leadership worked on transforming the region into the largest coastal city on the Mediterranean Sea.
“Therefore, we, in the United Company, thought of holding a different entertainment festival between sports, art, and interactive activities, in order to reflect the extent of development that took place here,” he added.
The Festival is the largest entertainment event in the Middle East and the first activities started on Wednesday and will continue through the summer.
The event will host artistic and sports events, as well as exhibitions and entertainment shows. The Festival will also host multiple concerts by the most prominent artists in the Arab world.
