Alexandria Customs collects EGP2.52bn customs, taxes in May

Alexandria Customs collected 2.519 billion Egyptian pounds   ($155.6 million) in customs duties, taxes, and other charges during May, minister of finance Mohamed Maait said.

The total value of taxes and customs duties collected for imported goods at Alexandria port reached 395.102 million pounds during the fifth month of 2020, he added.

Moreover, value-added tax (VAT) and other charges imposed on these goods amounted to 2.114 billion pounds during the month, the statement showed.

The imported goods included wheat, meat, corn, chemicals, sugar, cars, and spare parts.
