AlexBank coordinates with partners to tap Suez Canal Economic Zone – official

AlexBank is taking part not just as a financial institution but also as a coordinator with distinguished partners to better understanding of opportunities in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone), its chairman said on Thursday.

Speaking at the Pivotal Role of the Suez Canal in the Mediterranean Sea and Global Maritime Economy webinar, Ziad Ahmed Bahaa El-Din said Suez Canal has the potential to lead the global trade route.

Since the crisis the Suez Canal faced last March, which led to the closure of the shipping lane, the Egyptian channel gained growing interest for its vital role in facilitating global trade and maritime navigation, Bahaa El-Din added.

Suez Canal will be a powerful engine of growth for Egypt’s economy, he said.
