The preparatory meetings for the 7th session of the Algerian-Egyptian High Joint Commission started in Cairo on Monday.
The High Joint Commission will take place next Thursday, November 13, and will be co-chaired by Algeria’s Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal and his Egyptian counterpart Ibrahim Mahlab.
The Algerian delegation, comprising 30 members representing the different economic, cultural and social sectors, arrived Sunday in Cairo.
The members of the delegation held Monday a series of meeting with their Egyptian counterparts of the ministries of Religious Affairs and International Cooperation to examine bilateral relations and pending issues, propose appropriate solutions, present documents that are ready for signature and those that are still under examination in order to submit a report to the Follow-up Committee.
The Algerian delegation also involves representatives from the National Agency of Investment Development (ANDI), the National Agency for the Promotion of Export (ALGEX), the Central Bank of Algeria, and Algiers Stock Exchange.
On Wednesday, the Follow-up Committee will hold a meeting, which will be co-chaired by Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra and Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry. The meeting will be devoted to the finalization of the files to be submitted to the High Joint Commission on Thursday.
