German war epic All Quiet on the Western Front won four Academy Awards on Sunday including International Feature, Production Design, Original Score, and Cinematography.
The anti-war movie tells the story of Paul Bäumer, a young man enlists in the German Army to bring heroic victory to the country.
However, once they arrive in the battlefield, they realize that war is anything but glamorous.
The movie depicts eager soldiers at the beginning who end up traumatized by life in the trenches.
All Quiet on the Western Front premiered at the Venice Film Festival, and has made a spectacular performance at the British award show the BAFTA, where it won seven awards, including best film.
The movie is directed by Edward Berger, and stars Felix Kammerer, Albrecht Schuch, and Daniel Brühl.
