Americana, Ghabbour, ABB Groups to train, employ 1,100 youths in Upper Egypt
Egyptian Industrial Training Council (ITC) signed Wednesday three cooperation agreements with Americana Group, Ghabbour Group, and ABB Group to train and employ 1,100 youths from different governorates.
The agreements were signed in the attendance of Egyptian Trade and Industry Minister Tarek Qabil. They aim at boosting efficiency of a number of vocational training centres and upgrade competitiveness of the Egyptian industry.
Minister Qabil stated that those agreements come as pursuant to ministry’s strategy to develop technical and vocational training system since they represent an essential core to solve unemployment crisis in addition to covering industrial sector’s needs of well-trained labour.
He noted that the Egyptian council plays vital role in providing trained technical labour through adopting advanced training courses.
The Executive Director of ITC, Mahmoud El Sherbiny clarified that the first agreement was signed between the council and the Kuwaiti-based Americana Group to train 1,000 youths in poor villages in Upper Egypt and qualify them to work in company’s restaurants and factories inside and outside Egypt.
The trainee will get international accredited certificate from Britain’s vocational education organisation City & Guild, the official stated, adding that the total cost of the training course is estimated at 4 million Egyptian pounds, 50 percent of which the council will afford.
The course is set to be executed during six months of signing the agreement.
El Sherbiny noted that the second agreement was signed with Ghabbour Group – the Egyptian leading automotives manufacturer- on upgrading Imbaba auto training centre by supplying it with latest equipments in addition to train centre’s trainers under the supervision of the ITC.
The total cost of developing Imbaba centre is estimated at around 4 million Egyptian pounds which Ghabbour Group are set to afford during the coming three years.
The third agreement was signed between the ITC and ABB Group to train 100 workers in ready-made clothes field to employ them in company’s new factory in Upper Egypt. The Industrial Training Council is set to pay 50 percent of training course’s cost which is worth around one million pounds.
On other side, President of Americana Group, Moataz Al-Alfi said that company’s agreement with ITC targets creating job opportunities for youths in Upper Egypt governorates.
He added that the set-to-be-trained youths will have great opportunities to work at Americana’s 1,600 restaurants over 14 states in addition to its 18 food industries factories.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Ghabbour Auto Group, Raouf Ghabbour added that inking the agreement comes among company’s plan to boost efficiency of vocational training centres in Egypt.
Moreover, Senior Vice President of ABB Group- Egypt and North Africa Medhat Sidhom said that enhancing company’s social role was the key reason behind signing the agreement that targets achieving the economic and social development for Upper Egypt residents through establishing new factory for ready-made cloths.
