Apple, 1st brand to break $1t threshold
Apple has become the first brand to surpass $1 trillion in brand value, marking a 15 per cent increase from the previous year, according to Kantar’s BrandZ global ranking released on Wednesday.
The iPhone maker retained its position as the world’s most valuable brand for the third consecutive year in 2024, with a brand value of $1 trillion. Google followed with a brand value of $753 billion, and Microsoft at $713 billion.
Apple’s market capitalisation now stands at $3.18 trillion, outpacing Nvidia’s $2.97 trillion.
Nvidia, benefiting from the AI boom and surging chip demand, saw its brand value almost triple to over $200 billion, making it the sixth most valuable brand. Analysts attribute Nvidia’s rapid rise to its central role in the AI revolution.
Oracle also joined the top 10 for the first time, with its brand value increasing by 58 per cent to $145 billion, taking the ninth position.
Kantar’s research included over 4.3 million consumer interviews across 532 categories and covered 21,000 brands in 54 markets.
