Apple cuts iPhone 15 prices in China
Apple cut the prices for iPhone 15 in China by 500 yuan ($70) in the light of growing competitive pressure in the world’s largest smartphone market, Reuters reported on Monday.
Apple’s Chinese website showed that the company cut the prices of some iPhones by five per cent in a time-limited discount celebrating the Chinese lunar year. The sale will last from Jan. 18 to Jan. 21.
The tech giant has been facing lots of challenges in China recently with Apple’s latest iPhone 15 series of handsets selling less than other previous models.
This comes as Chinese companies, such as Huawei and Xiaomi, are offering competitive models.
iPhone sales in China have reportedly dropped by 30 per cent during the first week of 2024, with a fall of three per cent throughout all of 2023.
