Apple Inc. has increased its iPhone production in India accounting for almost seven percent of its total production, Bloomberg published on Thursday, adding that the production is up from one percent in 2021.
Apple assembled more than $7 billion worth of iPhones in the country during the last fiscal year, the report added.
The company is set to produce 25 percent of iPhones in India by 2025, the company is also set to launch its upcoming iPhones in India along with China.
This is the first time that the assembly of iPhones will begin in two countries at the same time. Apple is set to open its first retail store in India in Mumbai on April 20.
