The Arab Construction and Projects Forum will be inaugurated in Cairo Sunday to review major projects that were proposed during the Egypt Economic Development Conference (EEDC) in March.
Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab will open the forum, themed “Egypt’s Mega Projects,” with the aim to gather a number of regional and international financial, banking and investment institutions from both public and private sectors, representatives of contracting and construction companies along with Egyptian and Arab government officials and businessmen, according to Youm7.
The one-day forum convenes under the auspices of the Housing Ministry and the Federation of Arab Contractors Group.
“The attendees will demonstrate detailed proposals and feasibility studies on the mega projects put up during the EEDC. They will also be able to interact with Egypt’s top legal and economic officials to discuss means to implement the projects,” Mahlab was quoted by Al-Ahram Saturday.
The forum’s agenda includes a ministerial meeting of Egypt’s ministers of investment, housing and transportation and the President of the Egyptian Businessmen Association, Hussein Sabbour.
At his concluding remarks at the EEDC, Mahalb announced a total of 40 agreements and memoranda of understanding (MOU), with estimated investments of $162.9 billion, were signed during the EEDC. He added that $12.5 billion in pledged deposits and investments were made by the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Oman.
